Medical ethics training from 2007-2008. We explored issues such as transplantation, child-to-parent donation, stem cell research, surrogacy, end-of-life issues, the psychotic patient, and much more. We explored Talmudic and other ancient rulings of the past, but in order to do so, we had to learn Aramaic. Further more, I had the privilege of learning one-on-one with my mentor, Dr. Fink, who is one of the heads of the Shaare Zedek Institute Medical Ethics Center, chief-editor and contributor of various medical ethics magazines and books. His immense knowledge about every field was awe-inspiring, and most importantly, educational. There are many ethical dilemmas in medicine, but many more will develop. The program trained us to think so that we would be able to apply what we have learned to different situations that will arise in the future.

My team helped find the region on the human genome that leads to the predisposition of migraine with aura by studying the DNA of Finns and mice, as well as working with Celera and NIH databases. We used techniques such as pyrosequencing, BLAT comparisons, and SNP analysis.
